OUTLINE:

• You want to start a business in the UK.
• You should not be a member of the European Economic Area (EEA) or a Swiss national.
• You match the other criteria.

OBTAINING A RECOMMENDATION:

• A business organization with a history of aiding UK entrepreneurs.
• A UK higher education institution.

• A novel concept - you can't join or engage in a company that is currently profitable.
• Viable, with room for expansion.

HOW LONG WILL YOU BE ABLE TO STAY?

• You are permitted to stay in the UK for 2 years on a Start-up visa.
• You will not be able to apply for a visa extension.

IF YOUR RECOMMENDATION IS REVOKED,

• If your recommendation is revoked, your visa may be revoked. If you want to stay longer, you must resubmit with a new endorsement before your current visa expires.
• Even if you get a new visa with a fresh endorsement, you may only remain for a total of two years.

WHAT YOU ARE ALLOWED TO DO AND WHAT YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DO:

• Work in another job while also working for your company.
• You can move to this visa from another visa category.

• Obtain state money.
• Working as a doctor or dentist in coaching.
• You cannot work as a skilled professional athlete, such as a sports coach.
• Cannot reside in the UK.
